Kate Middleton’s latest shopping spree: New honeymoon-style dresses under $100:
With almost one week until the royal wedding, Kate Middleton was spotted dress shopping in London on Tuesday. The thrifty shopper, who loves T.J.Maxx, scooped up flirty dresses at Warehouse, a brand that was thrilled to have a royal endorsement.
"We're ridiculously excited that Kate Middleton is shopping in Warehouse on Kings Road!," Warehouse wrote from their Twitter account. "Think she is treating herself for a honeymoon wardrobe after buying this dress!" The tweet linked to their Tropical Bird Dress (pictured at the left) which retails for $105. The cap sleeved dress then flew off the racks quickly, and is only currently available in a size 8, the same size Kate bought according to the Daily Mail. The British paper reports that she showed up with a bodyguard at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday and only spent 20 minutes shopping. No fitting rooms for this gal!
Many of the items Middleton has worn have quickly sold out or are knocked off, so Warehouse is surely hoping to capitalize on Middleton's recent purchases. They have linked out to three other garments she bought during her shopping spree. One is the Bright Floral Bandeau Frill dress (pictured below), $72, a vibrant style perfect for vacation. The Feather Print One Shoulder Dress, also $72, features a ruffled neckline, while the Lace Trim Square Cut Blouse, $89, would look great paired with skinny jeans. The grand total of her shopping spree: $338.
On the Warehouse website, store manager Vanessa says "It was really great to meet her, she was really down to earth and lovely and she loved what she bought." While Kate Middleton may not be a princess yet, we're happy to see that amid her Burberry trench coats and fancy hats, she still knows and appreciates reasonably priced clothing.
As for the royal honeymoon, experts are speculating that the couple are planning a two week vacation in Jordan after their April 29 nuptials. If these dresses are any indication they'll definitely be someplace warm and laid back. Just what the newlyweds will need after their highly publicized wedding! We'd love to know if Middleton wears these dresses on her honeymoon, but we hope the paparazzi gives her a break and lets her enjoy being the new Mrs. Prince William.
